Leslie Allen Jones began running rivers to get back and forth from his family’s Montana ranch and school. After moving away for school and work across the country, he return West to run wilderness rivers.

This anthology begins with the transcript of an interview that Les gave on his last river trip thru the Grand Canyon, followed by accounts of his first trips and other early writings, and concludes with two pieces where he shares his views about river conservation and wilderness.
