A great debut for this author!
This was a great first book from Matilda Williams. This book was interesting because we can see the stories from the perspective of Duck. I would love to see more character development of Rory and Duck and I think it would be a better read if the "lessons" were more subtle. I believe the best lessons are learned through experience but we didn't get a really good feel for Duck's experiences. It often felt like Rory was just telling Duck what to do - even maybe disciplining Duck.
What will Matilda's second book be about? Perhaps an adventure story? I can't wait to read it.
