Publisher Description

What is "romantic love " In recent Western culture, romantic love has been equated with monogamous love, and it is presumed that any poet famous as Romantic poet must have written exclusively about MONOGAMOUS romantic love. But this has not always been so. As recently as a century and a half ago, the term "Romantic Love" referred to a something far more free and spontaneous than contemporary monogamous love and sexuality. The poets of ancient Rome, India and the European Middle Ages often championed forms of love modern people would call polyamory, swinging, free love, open relationships, or consensual nonmonogamy. This is a collection of poetry with a nonmonogamous theme.
