Second Chance Ranch
These are sweet and romantic stories, but what I like most about them is the backgrounds. I myself come from one of those big sprawling farm families, first in Ireland and now at the edge of a tiny town in Outback Australia. I am the second born and oldest surviving out of six siblings and more than a hundred cousins, and I have my own love story. I was widowed very young, with five little kids, the baby being only a few months old at the time, and I didn’t remarry until just before that son’s 14th birthday. My present husband is a good deal younger than I am, and isn’t troubled either by my age or by my scars from a long and sometimes far too adventurous life. I’ve been very lucky, and it is nice, in our world of doom and gloom, to read stories about people who have been as fortunate in their lives.
A Good Read
I loved “Second Chance Ranch” particularly the emotional struggles of the main characters. I found it easy to read.
