Publisher Description
Separating Religion from Politics Needs to Be Revised Egyptian Political Science Professor, Amr Hamzawy, said in an interview with the pan-Arab daily ASHARQ AL AWSAT on May 8 that the claim that says religion must be separate from the state "is wrong and needs to be replaced." Hamzawy was replying to a question in which the daily's reporter asked the professor about a recent debate between him and the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood leading member, Sobhi Saleh, in which Hamzawy announced that he does not support the idea of drawing lines between religion and the state.
