Customer Reviews
Seductive secrets.
A very enjoyable story. Mystery surrounds the heroine. Is the hero really a hero? Plenty of suspense. Is the heroine illegitimate? America and England, spies. Lots of ingredients to make an exciting story.
Eww
DNF
I got in barely 200 pages before I Noped out. It was poorly written and was already beginning to drag on after a fast paced open.
Also the suggestion she enter into a loveless marriage to cover for her friend all the while being told the other guy is a womaniser who uses women left a bad taste in my mouth.
It’s framed as him being a good friend but it came off as completely selfish to me. Like a tit-for-tat bargain: ‘You want me to help you prove your father was innocent, you marry me to cover my real preferences.’
All she gets is a raw deal with title that in essence is meaningless if she has to surrender any hope of a love match.
I know historically this would have been the norm, but in a book that’s supposed to be a Romance it feels icky.
