Okay read
I felt this book was a little slow moving since it’s quite large. I was a little bored while reading it. There were some goo, heart-clenching scenes but they were few and far between in my opinion. I also didn’t like Haven’s situation in the first 75%ish of the book, despite her having been rescued, but this is explained later and I understand now. I didn’t feel much connection with Carmine and Haven which is another reason I why I didn’t enjoy this book as much. They weren’t necessarily boring characters but they weren’t anything special. Overall I wouldn’t reread.
SPOILERISH:
There is a HEA, although it seemed a little tainted to me, the author adding a realistic spin to a happy ending. There is no love triangle, cheating or pregnancy between the main characters and no flashbacks. The love interests get together around 25% and stay together for the whole book, no misunderstanding or stupidity to break them up. I’d describe their romance as sweet romance.
