Sensory Integration and Processing Problems: Impact on Care

The purpose of this course is to improve the quality of care administered to patients with sensory processing issues by providing health and mental health professionals with information about sensory processing issues and health care from the point of view of the patient. In addition, members of the public may use this course to enhance their personal knowledge of the subject matter presented.


Upon completion of this course, you should be able to:


1. Describe the various components of the sensory system.

2. Identify categories of sensory processing dysfunction.

3. Discuss best practices for clinicians when caring for a patient with sensory processing difficulties.
