Publisher Description

This guide explains and demonstrates the process of building and configuring a Linux-based web proxy with content filtering capability. This type of machine can be used to help protect your user community from accessing undesirable material online. It is ideal for use in a school or other educational environment, but because all the software is free, it can just as easily be used in the home. This is a great use for an old computer that is a little too low-powered to run the latest version of your operating system of choice. Because this server can be run without a Graphical User Interface (GUI) its performance requirements are far less demanding. You can even get everything working on a Raspberry Pi®.    This is a really good project if you fancy learning about Linux and like tinkering with things.
