Shadows Wake
Wow. The things you find on a Facebook thread.
Yesterday as I happily scrolled through a Facebook thread on the existence of the Fae in our modern world, I came across mention of this book. Tantalised by the fact that it was set in Australia, I trotted off to purchase and download it. What a tale. I became lost in a world so close to, and yet so far removed from our own. Less than three hours later I was done, and started on the second, completely hooked. And now, I have finished the trilogy and am sad to find that I must wait until the middle of the year for the next instalment.
Aiki Flintheart has created a tale woven through history, while firmly grounded in the present. A tale full of sidhe, both dark and light. Some would say it is a fantasy, I for am not so sure. Highly recommended reading.
