Publisher Description
Juliette hasn't touched anyone in exactly 264 days.
The last time she did, it was an accident, but The Reestablishment locked her up for murder. And the world is too busy crumbling to pieces for anyone to pay attention to a 17-year-old girl. Diseases are destroying the population, food is hard to find, and the clouds are the wrong color.
The survivors are whispering war, and so The Reestablishment has changed its mind about Juliette's powers. Maybe she is more than a tortured soul stuffed into a poisonous body. Maybe she's exactly what they need right now: a weapon.
Juliette has never fought for herself before. But when she's reunited with the one person who ever cared about her, she finds a new strength in her power. Torn between two men, will Juliette be a weapon or a warrior?
"All I ever wanted was to reach out and touch another human being not just with my hands but with my heart."

APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
For as long as she can remember, 17-year-old Juliette Ferrars has been shunned as a monster—even by her own parents. That’s because the touch of her skin can kill and her bare hands are capable of demolishing thick concrete. This first book in Tahereh Mafi’s dramatic teen series paints a grim picture of a futuristic world ravaged by environmental destruction and man-made brutality. In the midst of this ugliness, Juliette reconnects with Adam, the only person to treat her younger self with kindness; he’s now a soldier for the murderous Reestablishment. Mafi sets the stage for an electrifying love story between two teenagers scarred by lonely childhoods but united in their refusal to relinquish their humanity.

Shatter me review
4/5
Could do better. But it’s amazing. The first line got me hooked. Love it.
SO CLOSE TO A FIVE
I can easily say this book was a 4.9! The reason why i can’t give it the 5 it could have had is because for a small amount of the book i was slightly bored (towards the end) and dragged out. But I LOVE warner’s character and kenji is such a mood and had me laughing. I would 100% recommend I can’t believe i nearly didn’t read this because of TikTok!
Ticks all the boxes
This was a thought provoking and intense series that I quite enjoyed. The story and the character evolved so much over the course of the series as new revelations came to light.
It highlights the many grey areas of morality and humanity and shows that war often makes for strange bedfellows.
And amongst it all is this pure and undeniable love story. The hope that we cling to in our darkest hours. The strength we find when we are so depleted we feel like we can’t go on. The salvation our souls cling to in the face of devastation and destruction. The joy that we collect from the rubble and store away in our hearts.
