While trying to teach her adopted daughter, Reema, how to work with molten glass, Opal receives a letter from Master Magician Zitora Cowan requesting Opal's immediate help. Zitora resigned from the Sitian Council over two years ago to search for her lost sister, and no one has heard from her since. Excellent short story.
Another addition to the 'Study' universe. This is a great short story with magic, intrigue and drama as well as a touch of humour. One problem - the cliffhanger ending!
Enjoyable Read
Shattered Glass follows on from the glass series where Opal receives a letter from the retired second magician Zitora Cowen. In the letter, Zitora explains that she has found her sister but that she is sick and needs Opals help. Opal questions the authenticity of the letter but decides to pursue it. This book details Opals journey and is a great book about the sacrifices we make for the people we love and the interesting dynamic between love and fear. It is a good read provided you have read both the poison study series and glass series.
