Shelf Life

A chaotic bookstore owner. A fiercely controlled coffee shop boss. One shared wall, and a rivalry that's about to boil over.

Darcy Callahan is barely holding it together. She’s keeping her late grandmother’s beloved Vermont bookstore afloat on caffeine, oversized cardigans, and sheer stubbornness. The absolute last thing she needs is Margot Kessler moving in next door.

Margot is everything Darcy isn't: impeccably tailored, maddeningly composed, and terrifyingly gorgeous. Her sleek, minimalist coffee shop—and its thumping, wall-rattling playlist—is a direct threat to Darcy’s peace, quiet, and sanity.

What starts as a string of noise complaints and petty territorial disputes over sandwich boards quickly escalates into an all-out turf war. But the friction between them isn't just anger. It's an electric, undeniable pull. When a heated argument in a cramped stockroom combusts into a desperate, earth-shattering kiss, their bitter rivalry turns into an addictive, secret physical arrangement.

They set ground rules: Just physical. No feelings. And absolutely nobody in town finds out.

But Margot is hiding a secret that could destroy Darcy’s legacy, and Darcy is terrified of losing the one thing she finally let herself love. In a small town where everyone knows your business, keeping their hands off each other is impossible—but trusting each other might be the hardest thing they’ve ever done.

Shelf Life is a steamy, high-angst, enemies-to-lovers sapphic romance featuring intense forced proximity, opposites attracting, and a guaranteed happily ever after.
