She is an energetic and passionate educator who uses
innovative, creative and adaptive concepts to educate
children. She worked with culturally and linguistically
diverse children both in Florida and Georgia states
for more than 16 years. She has a Doctorate degree
in Child and Youth Studies, specializing in Curriculum
Development and Systemic Change; an Educational
Specialist degree in Teaching English to Speakers of
Other Languages (TESOL), specializing in educational
leadership and school administration and a Master
of Education and Bachelor of Science degrees in
Elementary Education. She presently teaches Teaching
English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL)
undergraduate and graduate courses. She brings
extensive experience implementing and delivering a
standards-based data driven curriculum with understanding of curriculum, instruction
and assessments. She has held various educational positions such as teacher, Title
I Teacher on Special Assignment TSA), multicultural education coordinator, district
curriculum administrator generalist (K-12), grant writer, educational consultant, district
trainer, executive director, project manager, school board member, testing coordinator,
college professor, reading coach, ESOL resource teacher and assistant educational
leader. Her responsibilities included curriculum and instruction; assessments; data
analysis and evaluation; progress monitoring and reporting; budget and
finance and
training and technical assistance.
She provides leadership in assessing, developing, implementing and improving atrisk
students academic achievement using standards, benchmarks, and grade level
expectations in reading, math and writing. As a curriculum leader, she monitors and
evaluates the effectiveness of curriculum, instruction and assessments; and uses current
research-based theories and best practices aligned with student assessments data to
set academic priorities and establish high, concrete learning goals to improve student
academic achievement.
She presently works at a Charter School providing leadership implementing a standards based
data driven curriculum to meet the educational needs of all children.
Because of her desire to maximize children learning potential, she continues to seek
answers to the teaching and learning processes of all children. She knows that
one size (learning program or leaning style) does not fit all children in an ever
changing society.
