SLAPSHOT

Kellan O’Connor has a fairly simple list of things he would like to do to Yuri Lebedev.

Break his nose.
Bury him against the plexiglass.
Maybe commit a crime that forces the NHL to review some of its rulebook clauses.
Kissing him was definitely not on the list.

Yuri is Russian, arrogant, far too handsome for someone so unbearable, and plays hockey as if he were created specifically to irritate Kellan.

They have hated each other since they were seventeen.
Then Yuri gets signed by the Chicago Vipers.
Kellan’s team.

Now they have to share the ice, the locker room, the road trips, and dangerously close quarters.

The internet calls it a rivalry.
Kellan calls it the urge to commit murder.
Yuri seems to call it fun.

Except too much hate starts to look suspicious.
Especially when the taunts get dirtier.
The stares linger longer.
And certain fights start ending way too close to the wall.

They want to win.
They want to dominate.
They want to see the other lose control first.

The problem?

Maybe neither of them is prepared to find out what happens when the hate finally catches fire.
