When British Intelligence steals infrared images from Finland, they uncover more than they bargained for: the images contain clues that point towards an alarming Soviet conspiracy in the frozen climes of the RussoFinnish border. The Red Army is planning a coup. If successful, it will trigger an invasion of Finland and Norway, and the next world war.

Supported by the CIA, MI6 spymaster Aubrey sends a succession of field agents to the border on a mission, codenamed Snow Falcon. One by one, they all vanish.
