Publisher Description
We have to pretend that what we have is something like love…
USA TODAY Bestselling Author Claudia Burgoa pens a fun and sexy romantic comedy where playing pretend turns to playing for keeps…
I’m down on my luck.
Scratch that. This is the worst week of my life.
Enter the last person I want to deal with: Burke St. James.
He’s wealthy.
He’s a womanizer.
And a big liar.
And it turns out we need each other.
Burke needs a fiancée to seal the deal of a lifetime. I need help or my business is going belly-up. So, Burke very non-romantically asks me to marry him. Well, he asks me to be fake engaged to him, anyway.
I’ll attend a few dinners, pretend I’m in love, and meet the family.
In exchange, he’ll invest in my company and help me launch it off the ground.
All is easy, except his kisses feel more real than they should.
And the sex…damn, we’re not supposed to have sex.
It’s all for show…right?
Did I mention he’s a really good liar?
Pretending not to fall in love is more complicated than I thought.

Fabulous!!
Oh my what a fabulous and irresistible book by Claudia!! This is book 2 in a new series and what a wonderful series it is! This is Burke’s story and oh my he is so adorable and swoony! Burke has a proposition for Chloe as they are both in a predicament due to a horrible individual but can they keep to the rules? This rom com book was so delightful and I devoured it. I didn’t want this book to end as they were so adorable and cute together. This book left me with a smile on my face and I look forward to reading more from this series.
Ticked all my boxes
I was so excited for Something Like Love and all I’m going to say is Burke St James and Chloe Lafferty’s enemies to lovers story is the perfect addition to the series. I was drawn in from the first page and there was no putting down until the final word had been read in fact I wanted more from this couple and I’m sure you will to. Burke is working on a deal that’s taken over his life, he is determined to have it go through but in order for him to get past the first meeting he needs to prove he is a family man and that’s means this nerdy playboy needs a fiancée. Who better than Chloe the woman he shares a love/hate relationship with and who is desperate to start her own catering business. This couple have both been burnt by a mutual friend and for Burke it means just a bump in the road but for Chloe it’s means she has lost everything so could a fake marriage be the answer to both of their problems….. I fell hard and fast for Burke and I adored Chloe but what took this book to another level was the way this couple pushed each other’s button, the way their relationship developed really stole a piece of my heart. Add in the rest of the St James family and you get a perfect read. I can’t wait for what’s coming next in this entertaining series.
Entertaining and emotional
Having read the first book in Claudia Burgoa’s latest series I could not wait to jump in and read Something Like Love. I was hooked on the story she wove from the first chapter.
Something Like Love was well written with characters that you cannot help but fall for. Burke St James needs a fiancee if he has any chance of completing the deal of his life. That’s when he suggests a fake marriage to Chloe Lafferty, a woman he has a love/hate relationship with. Chloe is a chef who desperately wants to own her own catering business, after being betrayed by their mutual friend, Maddox and since Burke can help her achieve her dream, she agrees to pose as his fiancee.
I really liked Burke, he may come off as a wealth playboy but there is something about him that ticked the boxes for me. I liked Chloe, she is determined, feisty and driven.
Burke sees this as an opportunity to close the deal and pursue Chloe at the same time. However we all know that the best laid plans can go awry and that is what happens when emotions and feelings become involved. It was entertaining to watch the push and pull of their relationship as it developed.
I cannot wait for the next book in the series.
