Stealer of Souls: Genesis

Detective Mike Hone had been leading the investigation into the deaths of three children. It felt like this could prove to be the fourth.

Hone squatted over the small body. His mind went into an automatic mode that shut off his emotions. After fifteen years on the force, Hone had learned that it was not healthy to get emotionally involved, no matter how terrible the crime.

What they didn't know and understand was that what lay before them was only the shell Jason had occupied in his short life. Dave was right to ask where his son was, for he was still in danger. As the investigation proceeds, doorways are opened to other dimensions. The search is on for the Stealer of Souls.

His father's face twisted into a menacing snarl. A tongue, now forked, protruded through thick lips that curled around oversized incisors. The handsome, if not loving face of his father, continued to alter. It became the face of a beast.

Al had confronted many entities on his excursions into the astral planes that had caused him to back off. But none of them came close to the evil that flowed from this bronze monster. Its aura shimmered black. It wasn't just the sight of the beast that frightened him, but the evil that emanated from it, froze his soul.
