One of the most successful caddies of the modern era, Kiwi Steve Williams has worked alongside a number of the world's best golfers, including spending 13 years on the bag of Tiger Woods.
Together, Woods and Williams won more than 80 tournaments - 13 major championships among them. In his long-awaited autobiography, Williams shares stories from his years working with Woods as well as other golfing greats, Greg Norman, Raymond Floyd, Ian Baker-Finch and Adam Scott, among them.
Williams reflects on the highs and lows of these players' careers, and provides a unique insight into the relationship between golfer and caddy, and a rare insider's view of the professional golfing world.
APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
One of the best sports books we’ve read this year, Out of the Rough maps New Zealander Steve Williams’ career as a professional golf caddy. In his signature no-holds-barred style, Williams shares his deep knowledge of the sport, with observations about a caddy’s role, tournament politics and favourite courses and holes. We loved getting an insider’s scoops about the game’s biggest personalities, including Greg Norman, Adam Scott and, of course, Tiger Woods, whom Williams assisted for 13 years. We’ll be pressing this entertaining memoir into the hands of every sports fan we know.

A great read. Steve's proud to be a kiwi first, a great sportsman second. Enjoyed the no nonsense approach and what a journey he had. Would recommend this book for all golfers.
