I was so surprised how much I loved this book. The characters contained were so life like I felt like they lived next door to me, or down the street, or under my same roof.

The first in the series by Louise Penny. Having met Chief Inspector Gamache in the Three Pines TV series I wanted more. This book didn’t disappoint. The storyline is excellent, moving forward at a good even, logical pace. I like the character development & the interaction between them, both the good & bad. A delightful book to read that I would recommend to lovers of good, logical, well written police investigations
