Didn’t like
I would not have purchased this book if I knew it wasn’t about Clair and Shepard ! The short free chapter you get to sample gives the impression it is to continue on their story .
Beware - it’s a complete departure from the original series
I don’t think it should be sold on Apple Books as a part of the “Shepherd and Claire” series. It barely continues their story - it’s a spin-off into new characters.
I found the plot contrived and not to the standard found in the previous books. Even the snippets of Claire’s continued story seemed out of place to the new plot line, they could have been an epilogue of the third book. I think if it was made clear this plot wasn’t a continuation of the original series I might have enjoyed it as a standalone, but it lacks depth in comparison to her other works.
