Storage Company's Notice of Layoffs was Mandated, But Won't Necessarily Mean Cuts Biznotes Other Notables (Business‪)‬

Richmond Cold Storage recently posted a notice warning of 108 layoffs at Suffolk Cold Storage, which it operates and manages, starting Dec. 25. But maybe not. In a recent interview, Jeff Allende, a vice president at Richmond Cold Storage, said the notice was required under the U.S. Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act because the Richmond company might relinquish management of the Suffolk facility later this year. But he said the employees probably wouldn't lose their jobs.
