Loren is in his early-30s, living a successful and beautiful life. The death of his lover Steve from AIDS hits like a storm. This is the story of two entwined chapters of Lorens life: the last 10 days of Steves existence, and Lorens year-long quest to find closure while traveling around the world with nothing but a backpack. Country by country, discovery by discovery, Loren makes the journey from what was once familiar and comfortable to face his fears, let go of the past, forgive and heal.

By the time he returns home from his pilgrimage, Loren has gone through a tremendous life-altering transformation. Now filled with peace, empathy, and empowerment, he moves beyond the constraints he had once set for himself.
