Summer at the Lake
From Lake Como in Italy to Oxford, a wonderfully compelling novel about lost love, fate and second chances from the Sunday Times bestselling author.
Lake Como - beautiful, enchanting, romantic...
For Floriana, it is the place where the love of her life is getting married to another woman. And she's been invited to the wedding.
For Esme, it is where, over sixty years ago, she fell in love for the first time. So often she's wondered what happened to the man who stole her heart - and changed the course of her life.
Adam is in danger of burying himself entirely in his work after his girlfriend left him. Could a trip to Lake Como be the distraction he needs?
Now it's time for each of them to understand that the past is not only another country, it can also cast haunting shadows over everyone's lives...
APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
Ever feel weighed down by the choices you didn’t make? In Summer at the Lake, Erica James explores that unsettling feeling by following a trio of characters who are saddled with regrets before being brought together by a momentous twist of fate. This lively, transporting novel makes the most of its backdrop—Italy’s picture-perfect Lake Como—where James’ fictional trio bond over their unresolved love stories and the chance to take a staggering leap of faith. James brings her usual light and loving touch to this romantic story.
Absolutely loved this book
This is such a great story, extremely well written and edited. I can’t wait to read more of Erica’s books.
A mixed bag
I enjoyed this book, and although at times I couldn’t put it down, other times I found it quite slow and a bit long. It did however finish almost abruptly.
If it captures you, continue to the end.
