Publisher Description
Edmund Spencer’s, The Faerie Queene, the epic 16th Century poem, translated into modern English prose by Emily Underwood.
Suitable for all ages.
The stories in this volume are taken from an old, and very long poem written more than four hundred years ago in 1590 by Edmund Spenser. So long that it was published in four separate books. The poem was entitled, The Faerie Queene, and was dedicated to Queen_Elizabeth, who enjoyed the praise contained within for Queen Gloriana, knowing that the poet was really offering homage to the Queen herself. This can only add to our enjoyment of the delightfully adventurous stories of knights and ladies, dragons and giants, sorcerers and witches, which are all contained within the various books of The Faerie Queene.
