two photographic series with poetry by Paula V. Smith

    • 5.0 • 1 Rating

Publisher Description

This book presents two photographic series by Dan Ferro. They are a visual exploration of the transitional and disregarded; the unnoticed and commonplace. They are abstract images of texture and detail.

The subtext series' 15 images were taken in the London Underground at the end of 2001. They are sections of advertising space being prepared for new posters, just after layers of old posters were scraped away.

The 12 images of the cooked series are direct scans of pots and pans. This series is part of the permanent collection of the Museum of Contemporary Photography in Chicago, Illinois. The poetry of Paula V. Smith, professor of Grinnell College, appears with the cooked series.
