As the countdown to the new millennium begins, there is one thing everyone agrees on: no one wants to be in Onslow for New Year’s Eve.
So that can only mean one thing: road trip!
No longer the mousey, invisible, shy girl from years ago, Tammy Maskala is finally making up for all those lost summers. A new year with new friends, which astoundingly includes the bossy boy behind the bar, Chris Henderson.
She likes her new friends (at least most of them), so why does she secretly feel so out of place?
After chickening out on the trip, a last-minute change of heart sees Tammy racing to the Onslow Hotel, fearing she’s missed her chance for a ride. The last thing she expected to meet was a less-than-happy Onslow Boy leaning against his black panel van.
Now the countdown begins to reach the others at Point Shank before the party is over and the new year has begun. Alone in a car with only the infuriating Chris Henderson, Tammy can’t help but feel this is a disastrous start to what could have been a great adventure. But when the awkward road trip takes an unexpected turn, Tammy soon discovers that the way her traitorous heart feels about Chris is the biggest disaster of all.
Fogged up windows, moonlight swimming, bad karaoke and unearthed secrets; after this one summer nothing will ever be the same again.
Warning: sexual references, and occasional coarse language.

I'm absolutely obsessed with this series. I love that I can relate to Tess on some kind of level. The entire plot reminds me of 'When Harry Met Sally' and that makes it even better. Unlike some of the American novels I have read, this one is so much easier to understand.
Recommend to anyone who loves a little summer romance
This is probably my personal favourite out of the series. Just love how the magic of a new year is captured and the journey of it is perceived. Makes me want summer to never end!! 10/10
A Summer Adventure that I Wish was Mine
Who does't love a good road trip? I know I certainly do! That One Summer made me nostalgic for camping and family road trips. The Onslow gang are at it again, making memories together and making me envious of their summer fun. I love reading the scenes in Chris's "Shaggin' Wagon" . . . I think that came out wrong . . . what I mean is, I love the how the drive is described with the ever changing scenery, the atmosphere in the van and the relationship that grows between people that happens when you share a small space with someone - it can tear you apart or bring you closer than ever.
Even though Tammy is fresh meat to this series, don't fret, lovelies, all your favourites are back in action and create a little havoc as the conspire to make something happen between the timid Tammy and the oh, so serious Chris. Man, Chris could be a downer. Whilst reading scenes with Chris in them, I found myself channeling the the Joker and thinking, Why so serious? over and over again. I love the way that you get to see both Tammy and Chris come out of their shells with sweetly awkward moments and a few no so sweet. *wink, wink*
With this book, and the other's in the series, it has been obvious how it is going to end - with the two main characters together. It's predictable, but I've always been a believer in the phrase, it's all about the journey, not the destination. And I think that phrase fits That One Summer perfectly, don't you? What I'm trying to say is that even though the ending for Tammy and Chris is as predictable as whether or not the sun the rise, that is merely the destination. All the good stuff happens in the journey with the twists and turns and the unexpected surprises around the bend.
Duggan has created another summer in That One Summer that cannot help but wish was your own. A book that will keep you enthralled with laughter and heart-warming feelings to the end, leaving you itching to grab your friends, get behind the wheel, and travel the great open road that is before you.
