Along the way, he has lived and worked in eight different countries, usually taking the road less traveled, moving from exotic-but-safe locations like Japan to exotic-but-dangerous ones like Yemen. Book One illustrates working and living in two countries that could hardly be more different from each other and few people get to visit.
