Entertaining
Book three in the Aristocrat Diaries series and was a good addition. This is Evangeline (Eva) Astley and the Earl of Anglesey, Matthew Bennett’s story and it was an entertaining marriage of convenience read.
Matthew is in desperate need of an heir so he suggests that Eva marry him after all they have been friends for some time and neither of them are looking for a happily ever after. In fact Eva is not thrilled at all by the prospect of marriage but to save The Fox and Hound she agrees to marriage, a baby and an amicable divorce later.
It all sounds simple enough, but complications quickly arise when what starts off as fake soon morphs into so much more. I found myself laughing out loud on numerous occasions like a mad woman. Eva is such a fun, feisty, sassy woman and I really like her outrageous antics. Her relationship with her twin sister Adelaide is heartwarming and do not get me started on their text messages, they are a hoot.
The secondary characters are quirky and unique and really added to my enjoyment of the story. They were all up in every ones business and Matthew’s grandmother in particular cracked me up
This book left me with a smile on my face.
An entertaining, endearing story!
The Accidental Countess is an entertaining, endearing story with a wonderful small town feel.
Eva and Matthew have been friends for a while, however when he proposes an arrangement of sorts, lets just say the journey these two go on is really quite something!
This is the third book in the series and a wonderful addition.
Eva and Matthew feel like old friends and I loved the way they develop their friendship.
I especially love how everyone gives their opinion, Matthews Nan, in particular, is an absolute hoot and quite the character.
Can Eva and Matthew resist temptation and not fall in love?
An enjoyable read for sure!
