Carolyn Wells was born on June 18, 1862, in Rahway, New Jersey. She was an American author and poet. She was especially noted for her humor and was a frequent contributor of nonsense verse and whimsical pieces for some small magazines.
In her writing career, she had written more than 170 books. At first, she focused on writing poetry, children’s books and humor, and after some time she started writing mystery novels.
She died on March 26, 1942 in New York City.
