Nothing like the movie and better because of this"
If you thought the novel mirrored the film you are wrong. I had simply assumed that the two things, movie and novel, were to forms of the same Ludlum art. I was pleasantly surprised by my error. The novel was a great romp. The film, great! Of course. But the novel has a rich diversity of well fleshed out characters; the figure of Carlos is superb. The stronger female role of the love interest was a welcome surprise as was the absence of Bourne being some superhuman lab-created character. He's just a naturally tough, formerly bad, super killing machine. Wicked! Take this one with you, as I did, on vacation.
Setting the pace
I read this when I was in my early teens and I am in my 40s now - yes my younger friends it is not just a great modern movie but a great book that set the pace for today's audience. Buy this book.
