The Broken Save

Sometimes the bravest thing a mechanic can do is keep his hands still.

Deep in the Mech Workshop, a save-point is stuttering, flickering, practically begging to be fixed, and Patch Bolt's hands have never wanted anything more. But in this place, every quick repair erases something true. Fix the break, and you delete the message it was holding.

To save what the workshop is carrying, Patch has to learn a brand-new kind of courage: document first, label it, translate it, and only then decide. With a little archive robot named Bit Bracket, the team learns the difference between repairing a thing and reading it.

And under the oldest broken save of all, Patch uncovers a mark that fits Captain's own wrench exactly, which can't, possibly, be a coincidence.
