The Camberwell Beauty

Maggie is widowed not by the First World War but by a gas explosion in the London underground.  Deeply damaged by this and the loss of her unborn child she discovers that she can 'create' living animals and children simply by sewing them.  Living half in the past of her own childhood and half in her own created future Maggie struggles with issues of maternity, creation, responsibility and ultimately abandonment.
