Publisher Description
Cornwall is a county and unitary authority area of England, in the United Kingdom. It is a peninsula with area of 3,563 km2. It borders with the Celtic Sea to the north and the west, the English Channel to the south and the county of Devon to the east. There are 536,000 people living there.
Being located at the south-west side of the island of Great Britain, it is exposed to the full force of the prevailing winds coming from the Atlantic Ocean.
The coastline is composed mainly of resistant rocks and many impressive cliffs. What is interesting is that the north and the south coasts are different. The north coast, being more exposed to the winds of the Atlantic, has wilder nature where rocks and cliffs prevail. However, there are many extensive stretches of fine golden sand which forms beaches. The south coast is more sheltered and there are several estuaries offering safe anchorages, beaches of coarser sand and shingle.
In this book you will find description of the coasts of the Cornwall peninsula, including all the places there.
It is a great choice for those who are interested in geography and traveling, and want to learn more about many different places.
