'A smart, appealing heroine who can out-think as well as out-shoot the baddest of bad dudes.' Kirkus
I could be dead tomorrow. Or something worse than dead.
Rogue FBI agent Jane Hawk knows she's living on borrowed time. But as long as she's breathing, she'll never cease her one-woman war against the terrifying conspiracy that threatens the freedom - and free will - of millions.
Battling the mysterious epidemic of murder-suicides that claimed Jane's husband has made Jane a wanted fugitive, hunted relentlessly by the secret cabal behind the plot. They are determined to see her dead . . . or make her wish she was.
Propelled by her righteous fury, Jane will confront head-on the lethal forces arrayed against her. But nothing can prepare her for the chilling truth that awaits when she descends the crooked staircase to the dark and dreadful place where her long nightmare was born.
APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
The Crooked Staircase kept us so transfixed that hours went by the wayside. The third instalment in Dean Koontz's Jane Hawk suspense series finds the rogue FBI agent on the trail of the shadowy cabal behind a shocking government conspiracy, while also trying to protect her hidden-away son. Shot through with hair-trigger violence and a Black Mirror–like sense of incipient doom, this breathless thriller feels intensely urgent.

Milked like a Cow
This is the 3red book in what seems now to be a never ending series! Whilst I have enjoyed the books as such, I feel like they are being padded out to make it to the next, then the next without end, with each book costing more to buy, I feel like the author is just milking me for money rather than finishing the book and moving onto other good stories.
Jane Hawk is like Odd Thomas, great to begin with but after a while you get over parting with more cash for yet another book with no ending, I gave up on Odd, I think maybe I’ll stop with Jane whilst I still have some money left, and spend it on a book with a conclusion.
Seriously J.R.R.Tolkin got it done in 3 books!
The Crooked Staircase
Ripped off! Book ends with no conclusion to be continued in the next book. I will never read the books from this author again. Sad because I have enjoyed previous books. This review will pe posted to social media
