The first in Mary Stewarts Merlin trilogy. What can I say! These series of books are my favourites of all time! I have been reading them since first published and read them at least once a year. Brings Merlin to life like no other book I've read. Even sheds a different light on all the other players in the Arthurian legend/myths. My go to book for a joyous, enthralling, escapism read. It doesn't get any better than this.
