Publisher Description
Leslie Ann Brennemann has to relearn that her aunt Dory is her mother. An assassin’s bullet has changed her life drastically. The creator of an AI that protected her, Kalisa, was murdered while Leslie held her hand. Now, she just wants to go home. Leslie takes it upon herself to bury her new friend, and she meets a wanted criminal at the funeral home. It turns out to be one of the people from back in the day, when her mothers were on board the Elissa. He remained out of country for twenty years, but came to Hyannis for the remains of Kalisa.
They both have to come to terms with the way her life ended. The US and Chinese governments have been studying the AI she created, and everyone wants it. They have no idea it was developed for a ruthless crime boss, and he may be the one who sent all the assassins out in the first place. Resources are carved out for more research into the mysterious computer software, and why it has a special interest in Leslie.
