The Dalai Lama’s Cat is back!
Latest title in the ever-popular and bestselling series.
The Dalai Lama's Cat is back: irreverent, vain-and delightfully insightful as ever!
When the Dalai Lama's inner circle is set the task of providing His Holiness with a book he can give his visitors, an unexpected volunteer stretches out her paws. The book is to summarise the four key elements of Tibetan Buddhism-and, importantly, to communicate how it feels to be in the profoundly reassuring presence of His Holiness. Who better to do this than his much-loved feline?
Through encounters with celebrity visitors and her own intriguing adventures, the Dalai Lama's Cat explains all four key themes, not so much as ideas but as practices to be embodied. Along the way she even gets a new title: "Therapy Cat". If you have ever sought a summary of Tibetan Buddhist wisdom, albeit from an unusual and whiskery source, this may just be the book to get you purring!
Customer Reviews
HHC is back with a new book to get your whiskers tingling!
The Four Paws of Spiritual Success’ is the latest instalment in The Dalai Lama’s Cat series and, once again, HHC (and her transcriber David Michie) don’t disappoint. The main principles of Tibetan Buddhism (renunciation, bodhicitta, sunyata wisdom and guru yoga) are dealt with in the same entertaining way we’ve become used to in the previous three books, but there’s also an underlying sense of seriousness, maybe a reflection of HHC now being a mature 7 year old cat rather than the young, slightly out of control feline of the past. The supporting cast of characters are also going through their own somewhat challenging experiences with, in one instance, the words of advice coming from a rather unexpected source. ‘The Dalai Lama’s Cat and the Four Paws of Spiritual Success’ is a great read and is a book (as are the previous three) that you’ll come back to again and again and again!
Simply delightful
Having read all books in this series now, I can without a doubt state that it is another brilliant book written by HHC filled with wisdom, humour & beauty of surrounds. It will engage readers hearts & minds & for all ages. It has the same characters as in previous books, however it is also a stand alone read & I’m sure once ‘hooked’ there will be others on your bookshelf. Enjoy good readers as I did.
