The book structured as a frame story including 100 tales told by a group of three young men and seven young women saving from the afflicting city Black Death in a villa outside Florence.


The various love tales in The Decameron range from erotic to tragic; also it includes tales of wit, life lessons and practical jokes. In addition to its contribution to literature and widespread influence, it provides a writing of life at the time. Originally was written in Florentine language and is considered to be a masterpeace of classical early Italian literature.
