Most of Hardens life has been as a writer a writer of facts in the newsdepartments of radio, television and newspapers. With all that factual writing,I thought what I was about to attempt would be vastly diffferent, he said.However, I learned otherwise. This book is also about facts and the verylife Ive lived is certainly a fact.After four years in the U.S. Air Force, his next step was into broadcasting.Trained as an annoucer, he later moved into the news departments and bothwrote and voiced the news. During his long career, he also worked in televisionand as a newspaper writer/photographer.Having written most of my adult life, I felt I could quickly and easily writeof my familys history, Harden said, but this was the most difi cult task Iever attempted. And, as it turned out, what I had written was more of anautobiography.Whats next for Hardens pencil? He says he wants to try writing fi ction. Heplans to write a novel about a now-lost love of motorcycling. It will actuallybe an adventure/murder/suspense tale with a woman protagonist and he hasalready collected many pages of notes. Asked when the novel would be readyfor readers, Harden smiled and said, I can only say as mothers have alwaystold their children, Well just have to wait and see
