The revelation destroys him.
But before Logan can come to terms with the betrayal, his oldest friend—investigative journalist Jorge Romero—is brutally murdered.
Consumed by grief and rage, Logan launches his own investigation, determined to uncover who ordered the killing and why.

APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
Few thriller writers balance rapid-fire pacing and meditative themes like Matt Rogers. In The Forsaken, he introduces a bold new character: Logan Booth, a freelance assassin who learns he’s been carrying out covert orders from the CIA for the past decade. When his close friend (an investigative journalist) is murdered soon after, Logan enlists an unlikely ally named Alice and embarks on a ruthless quest for vengeance. With its clipped dialogue and precise date and time stamps, urgency is always at the forefront of this focused page-turner. Yet there’s plenty of room for Rogers to explore morality and philosophy in between the hard-hitting action. Fans of both Jack Reacher and Jason Bourne will definitely want to spend more time with Logan Booth in future books.

Meh
Over written. Laughingly bad character work. Did get 60% through it though.
