This elite pageturner follows Jane, whose dream rental apartment quickly becomes a waking nightmare. That’s because Jane becomes obsessed with a previous tenant, Emma, who died in the gorgeous but terrifying property. Delaney writes with delicious poise—no mean feat considering the endless twists we’re treated to.

In the pseudonymous Delaney's riveting psychological thriller, first Emma Matthews and then Jane Cavendish take up residence at One Folgate Street in London. The house, a masterpiece of minimalist architecture designed by the enigmatic Edward Monkford, is let only to tenants willing to abide by his stringent rules, which reduce life to its basics. This setup appeals to people looking for order, like Emma, who's trying to recover from a brutal attack that's hastening the end of her relationship with a man who adores her. A uniquely written mystery
I like the way the story was told from the perception of the two female characters, one in the present & one in the past. The similarities in their experiences helped to build the suspense. Short digestible chapters helped kept the pages turning. A really interesting read but a slightly disappointing ending, but often it is that way with mysteries. A great first novel & an easy book to knock over in a day.

Twists and turns, and a real page turner!
A dystopian house that is designed by a shameless, controlling perfectionist, where the past and present occupants collide, this is an intense but captivating story. Looking forward to see how closely the TV series treats this thriller!
