The girl in the hard hat
While this may not be a literary masterpiece, it is a nicely written, and a page turner. The way the men in the novel speak feels so real. And for a a girl who not currently living in Australia it was a great slice of home. I enjoyed this book as much as Loretta's earlier book.

I great little read, funny & laid back with a bit of excitement & chaos towards the end.. I liked this story even better than ‘the girl in the steel capped boots’, but think they’re great books together- looking forward to book #3!
Being a woman that’s worked in isolated machine operating positions amongst a very male dominated work environment here in Australia’s outback I could relate to the language, dynamic, landscape & events of these stories & felt it was like chatting with an old friend that knows me very well.
Well done for being able to capture & translate so well the challenge & pressure a woman takes on with any isolated job of a similar nature, & also the feeling of pride & personal achievement when success & respect in the workplace are achieved.. bang on Loretta! 👌🏼
A great second book
Wow Loretta you did it again. This is another brilliant story and I loved how the characters from the first book where included.
So easy to read you won't want to put it down equally as good as the first book.. I love all the characters and the storyline was fantastic too, it makes you feel like you are there living in the Pilbara. You will laugh... Carl is the funniest!!
There is something for everyone in this story.
I'm definitely looking forward to the next book.
