When George first met her, she was an eighteen-year-old college freshman from Sweetgum, Florida. She and George became inseparable in their first fall semester, so George was devastated when he got the news that she had committed suicide over Christmas break. But, as he stood in the living room of the girl's grieving parents, he realized the girl in the photo on their mantelpiece - the one who had committed suicide - was not his girlfriend. Later, he discovered the true identity of the girl he had loved - and of the things she may have done to escape her past.
Now, twenty years later, she's back, and she's telling George that he's the only one who can help her...
APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
Peter Swanson’s assured debut novel delivers the mystery, red herrings and double-crosses that make noir thrillers so addictive and exciting. George is in his mid-30s and bored with life when he runs into his college girlfriend—who supposedly died years ago. Told in fast-paced chapters that alternate between past and present, this gripping tale of first love, dangerous femme fatales and stolen identity is impossible to put down.

The girl with a clock for a heart.
Storyline quite predictable.
Didn’t like the ending, left me up in the air.
Did he find her, turn her in, stay with her.....
Is there going to be a book 2.
This had me hooked until the last page and then slightly disappointed there wasn’t more closure.
