The Great Wall

Explore the wonders of China with the Bedford Girls’ School Junior School Enhanced Curriculum Series. Each of the activities is supported by the IB learner profile, and it is expected students will create a portfolio while studying the topic across the curriculum.


In The Great Wall:

1. Buddhist Monks - why do Buddhist monks give up their worldly goods? Compare your possessions to those of a Theravada monk

2. Tourism - create a mini-project about The Great Wall of China and read about Mrs Mundell’s walk

3. Walls - how can I use paint and pencil to create texture, use the camera to investigate wall textures

4. Hitting a Wall - what does it mean to hit a wall, why do people use excuses?

5. Graffiti - discuss the work of Banksy and explore Chinese graffiti with DALeast

6. Project Books - improve your writing


Bedford Girls’ School is an independent day school for girls aged 7-18 in Bedford, UK, and is operated by the Harpur Trust. We are a 1:1 iPad school, and this is one of a number of resources created for our students.
