Publisher Description

Physician Matt Wheeler is one of the few who said no to eternity. As he watches his friends, his colleagues, even his beloved daughter transform into something more-and-less-than human, Matt suddenly finds everything he once believed about good and evil, life and death, god and mortal called into question. And he finds himself forced to choose sides in an apocalyptic struggle - a struggle that very soon will change the face of the universe itself.

Speculative fiction

A term that has fallen out of use but which accurately describes this book: speculative fiction. A believable, logical response to a 'what if...' scenario. What if the world, life and our understanding of reality and our possibilities as humans changed? Who goes along for the ride and who stays behind? The author betrays a sound understanding of the human psyche, our motivations and pulls no punches when it comes to the complexities of human nature. He allows the characters to play out with a true voice - where the likeable have flaws and the unlikeable have at worst a reason for us to show compassion and at best a redeeming quality. My only criticism of this fine story is the execution of the book by Gateway, in its e-form it is littered with typos and incorrect autocorrections. A proof read would have been nice.
