I own the book and have watched the movie
This book has a bit of romance in it but it is mainly about a horse and a little girl and her mother who go on this journey to find a man who can "whisper" to horses. They need to see him because the horse and the girl were both victims of a gruesome crash which killed the girls friend and a horse she knew. The girl that survived lost her leg and her horse became hostile which is understandable because of what had happen to him in the crash.
The mother and daughter became distant an when the find the man they are looking for, everything starts to get better, even the horse starts to trust again. ( I haven't finished the book yet and I did not buy it on iBooks but I own a copy of the actual book and that is what has happened so far. It does get more interesting and I have left a few bits out so you must read this book or watch the movie)
