Customer Reviews
I thought I found a gem!
Ecstatic at finding a brilliantly written book.
Book 1 of the trilogy, to me, was a 5-star. The plot, characters, style, editing, proofreading, the works. Great.
Book 2 started sliding a bit—I started to worry. Took longer to read than Book 1, but still intriguing, interesting. A good read.
Book 3. What happened? Overall, seems as if written be someone else, or the author had just ran out of steam and wrote whole array of fillers—too many new characters. At the end of a series? Confusing timelines, slow story development, convoluted and dragging storyline— just to complete the trilogy.
I hoped the overarching story would build to a glorious crescendo.
The Awakened Kingdom:
A novella written by a brilliant writer, this is devastatingly disappointing, condescending to readers, a self-indulgent piece of work. What an ego massage! At the expense of readers' money. A shame!
This is what usually happens when a writer over-extends herself. So disappointing, so sad. Brilliance commercialized.
