The Inside Scoop

A sweet-natured contemporary story about facts, friendship and finding your tribe, suitable for readers who love Kayla Miller's Click or Nova Weetman's The Edge of Thirteen.

Twelve-year-old Poppy Porter feels like she has to hide who she really is if she wants to survive high school with her best friend - and that means talking about the news is 100% off limits!

But when Poppy accidentally finds out the school oval is about to be dug up and replaced by a new classroom block, she thinks she's struck gold and found a massive scoop to break on the school news website. However, the principal has a hidden agenda. When Poppy finds herself banned from reporting on negatives like the loss of green space, she decides to take matters into her own hands. She forms an underground news team to report the truth in order to save the oval and, hopefully, her friendship.
