Fantastic read
Absolutely loved it! Great suspense & a really unique storyline
Yawn
It started off well enough, but I soon became bored and skipped through. I picked the bad guy, too.
A chilling read
The Killing Kind, brought to you by best selling author Jane Casey, is a standalone crime thriller and a spectacular read. Dark, intense and twisty as they come, this is one read that you do not want to miss out on!
The pages just turn themselves, there is a sinister vibe throughout, its creepiness is off the chart and every noise I heard around me, had me on edge and looking over my shoulder. More than once I had to check that all my doors and windows were locked! My two golden retrievers were of no use in keeping guard and with each gasp I uttered, just resulted in a look and a huff as I interrupted their sleep. Thanks very much girls!
Ingrid I found to be a really great character. She has been well developed and I found myself invested in her. Not one to easily trust and permanently with her guard up, I could relate to her. Although John Webster provided many of my freaked out moments and is as chilling as they come, he has been masterfully written in his role.
Whilst this is only the first book I have read from Jane Casey, I can see her fast becoming a favourite author of mine. I had an immediate connection to her writing, which is flawless, and it just commanded my attention and had me under its spell. I look forward to reading more from her.
The Killing Kind is transfixing and will take over and consume you. Just a heads up though, before you start make sure you have nothing else to do as you won’t be able to put it down. Based on that, as well as its other strengths, this is what I class as a perfect read.
